Literate Village, a USAID funded program, is seeking for the position of “” in Cairo.

Background

The  main purpose of this full-time Accountant job is to provide general personnel, admin, procurement, finance support to LV staff in Cairo and governorates regarding the implementation of IR 2. S/he will report to the LV Technical Support Manager. S/he will work closely with relevant home office team, coordinate with Save the Children relevant departments, and support LV team at headquarters and field office level. This job is based in Cairo with a limited possibility to travel to the project target governorates.


HR & Personnel

Main responsibilities and tasks:

– Conduct orientation to the new staff on the personnel manual and provide support to ensure proper application.
– Custody an updated file of staff annual leaves balance and collect and keeps staff annual leave forms and copy of timesheets.
– Prepare regular reports on annual leave balance to encourage staff use their annual leaves.
– Liaison with Medical insurance company (receive reports, review, follow up on reimbursements, etc.).
– Following up the process and results of staff annual appraisals against the personnel manual.

– Liaison With Target In The Following Matters

– Tracking staff leaves (annual, casual, and sick leaves)
– Monthly collection of timesheets from the staff, attach it with leave forms, scan it and submit all to TARGET.
– Assist with recruitment process of new hired employees: initial screening of received CVs, coordinate with Target to set interviews schedule, follow up on the completion of the hiring process by Target.
– Coordinate all related procedures

Budgeting and finance

– In Cooperation with home office, and HQ team, prepare and revise budget and prepare all required financial projections and reports.
– Work with LV Finance Officer to track expenses charged to IR 2 budget that are spent directly through Save or indirectly through the PNGOs and prepare needed financial reports.

– Liaison With Target In The Following Matters

– Provide support to HQ staff on reviewing Target’s monthly invoice.
– Review salary invoice and confirm it to home office.
– Review and approve monthly salary calculations (with TARGET)
– Receive original documents of salaries and invoice. – Support the LV AL team on the following:
– Prepare monthly cash projections
– Review requested cash advances with budget availability.
– Collecting financial documents and receipts that are requested by SCI to reconcile LV HQ cash advances.
– Provide support to the preparation of the advance requests, payment requests, etc.
– Preparing any requested financial report.

Procurement:

– Coordinate the implementation of the procurement of AL materials needed for literacy classes in collaboration with Save relevant departments.
– Prepare cash projections and track expenses against this line item.

Administration:

– Assist and provide all logistical support to LV AL team related to central/governorate level activities.

  • Other:

    – Provide support to follow up on WEI registration.
    – Perform other duties and tasks as per project needs

    Qualifications And Experiences

    – Degree in Accounting or Financial Management.
    – At least 5 years’ experience in an Accounting position.
    – Excellent working capabilities with MS Excel, Word and other accounting software packages like QuickBooks.
    – Knowledge of payroll and tax issues
    – Ability to work independently
    – Proficiency in English, Arabic
